CALL FOR APPLICATIONS – Theatre Wire Subscription Series 2016/2017

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS – Theatre Wire Subscription Series 2016/2017

Theatre Wire is now accepting applications from independent theatre companies, artist collectives, and individuals producing shows in late 2016 and/or early 2017 (Oct. – May) to be included in the 2016-17 Theatre Wire season.

What is Theatre Wire?

Theatre Wire is an initiative from the First Vancouver Theatrespace Society, the folks who produce the Vancouver Fringe Festival. We started Theatre Wire because our city has independent theatre openings practically every week, but it can be difficult to keep tabs on all these productions. Our vision for Theatre Wire is to be a one-stop shop for independent theatre!

In addition to selling tickets and subscriptions, we aim to be a source for theatre news, local performing arts history, and more theatre information—such as videos hosted by comedian Sara Bynoe (Say Wha?: Readings of Deliciously Rotten Writing) interviewing Vancouver’s theatre personalities.

In Theatre Wire’s inaugural season, we worked with Twenty Something Theatre, Solo Collective as well as Fringe favourites Peter n’ Chris, Tara Travis and Charles Ross. The 2015/16 season will wrap up with James & Jamesy (High Tea) and 5@50, a co-production between Zee Zee Theatre and Ruby Slippers Theatre.

Why Should I Partner With Theatre Wire?

The primary objective of Theatre Wire is to help independent theatre producers sell more tickets.

We bundle productions into subscriptions to develop a base of loyal theatre-goers who commit to attending a show months before opening. People who buy subscriptions tend to see more shows and continue going to shows by the same companies for a longer period of time.

We also provide Box Office capabilities online and at the door to ensure continuity through the entire sales process.
