World Theatre Day was created by the International Theatre Institute (ITI), the world’s largest organization for the Performing Arts. It was initiated in 1961 and has been celebrated every March 27 since, as a way to celebrate and promote the art. Each year The Professional Association of Canadian Theatre (PACT) commissions a message to promote and celebrate World Theatre Day from a Canadian perspective.
This year, the message is as funny as it is true. As a theatre lover or creator you’ll relate. If you are new to theatre or wish you saw more you’ll be inspired. Read the message below, written by Sky Gilbert, co-founder and former Artistic Director of Buddies in Bad Times Theatre in Toronto. Join the conversation below and Happy Theatre Day!
